It was a day of great competitiveness and sporting camaraderie and we at Hinckley BID are proud to be able to provide an annual event that is so well embraced by the teams who enter a Soapbox and loved by the crowds.

Held on Castle Street – Hinckley’s main shopping street – speeds of up to 35mph were recorded by some of the carefully designed soapboxes who do battle for a host of Trophies.

The award for ‘Most Enthusiastic Junior Racer’ was presented by Hinckley Mayor, Cllr Robin Webber-Jones to team ‘No Hope’, the 12th Hinckley Scouts team showed immense enthusiasm and determination despite their team’s name.

A team from Earlshilton Scouts also took part in the race along with leaders from Earlshilton.
